RHODE ISLAND REPUBLICAN PARTY SUPPORTS JUSTICE NEIL GORSUCH
Today Rhode Island Republican Party Chairman Brandon S. Bell joined attorneys from 31 other state Republican Parties by submitting a letter to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) to support President Trump's nomination of Justice Neil Gorsuch to the United States Supreme Court.
"The undersigned attorneys represent the various state Republican parties in the roles of General or Senior Counsel and believe that Judge Gorsuch embodies an exceptionally qualified scholar of the law that has exhibited respect for our Constitution, including the Separation of Powers and the 10th Amendment," the letter reads in part.
In supporting Judge Gorsuch, Chairman Bell quoted the late Justice Scalia: "It is emphatically the province and the duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, and not what it should be."
